I must say that I have been with virgin/ntl for many years and have not
found the service too bad.

They have mostly done as i have asked. Having said this I find that the call
center staff are not always as well trained or as knowlageable as they
should be.

My main grouse is that they are getting to be expensive for phone call on
the land line.

I have been with NTL for many years but as soon as virgin took over
everything turned to crap.
I had a good strong signal on my internet service but when virgin took over
the signal was & is next to nothing.

Once again, Virgin didn't "take over" anything. If you were getting your
service through NTL equipment, then you are /still/ getting your service
through NTL equipment.

So one day it was really good then the next it wasn't, even though nothing
except the name changed? I find that very odd!

It wasn't an overnight change but the rot started with the merger. I
hadn't even considered leaving when the brand name was CableTel nor NTL. Now
I have Sky+ instead of what I initially thought was a superior cable system
and am seriously considering ditching the phone line. I used to recommend
everyone I spoke to to use NTL but I'm sad to say I tell people now to steer
well clear.

That said, there's still no comparison for the broadband service, when
it's working.

Except Virgin hasn't taken over.

NTL:Telewest bought Virgin Mobile, Richard Branson became a 10.5%
shareholder in the newly named Virgin Media company, however it is
still NTL:Telewest that run the company and they pay Richard Branson a
yearly fee to use the name.

Call it what you like, but the service and staff attitude has got worse
since we saw the word Virgin on our invoices.

Don't know about the xNTL side, but xTelewest side have been a rip-off
for phone calls for almost 7 years if you don't get any discounts.

Are we all playing nicely now? Or do the NTlers still have separate
rooms to us?
